I am a proud father of two boys, Benjamin and George, who both attend Parklands. I became a parent governor in 2012 because I wanted to play an active role in ensuring my children received the best education in a happy, caring and safe environment. A child’s early years education should be one of the most fun and exciting times of his or her life and the governing body play an important part in ensuring the school plans and policies are in place to enable this. At work, I am a chartered mechanical engineer and manager at Rolls-Royce where I research and develop new technologies, so I have a real passion for science, maths and their implementation into real life. As a governor at Parklands I try to use these skills to assist and improve Parklands wherever possible and in particular use this as a member of the maths committee and the buildings committee.
