I have been a parent governor at Parklands since November 2012. In November 2016 I became a co-opted Governor. I am a stay at home mum, who before having my own children had worked within the childcare and education sectors in varying roles since leaving school many years ago! I currently have 2 children at Parklands, my eldest child is now at junior school so I have had some involvement in Parklands as a parent for a number of years. Having had the experience of a child going through Parklands I realised what a good school it is, one where the teachers genuinely care about the children and help them to achieve their very best. As a result of this I wanted to be involved in taking the school forward, and to ensure that the school succeeds and achieves its best for all children. I am on the Curriculum and School Improvement Sub-committees and also the Finance, Pay and Personnel sub-committees. I am the Governor responsible for Literacy and also for Target Groups such as children in receipt of Pupil Premium funding.
