I’m Sarah and I have been involved at Parklands since January 2011, when my eldest daughter started at the nursery. My son is now in school and my youngest daughter is due to start in the nursery soon!
I am a qualified primary school teacher and taught in the nursery at Parklands briefly in 2012. I currently work on a supply basis at my previous school and teach mainly in the Foundation Stage, whilst being a stay at home mum the rest of the time. I am also a parent –helper on Parklands’ ‘eco committee’, which is a lot of fun!
This experience has shown me what a great school Parklands is, and I felt being a governor would be an exciting opportunity to be involved and to support the leadership and staff. Being part of decision making that impacts on my own children and their peers is a real responsibility and so it is one that I take very seriously. My governor role, currently involves a responsibility for literacy and I am part of the school improvement and curriculum committee.
