Summer Term 2
Welcome back to the last half term of Year Two! (Yes- we cannot believe it either!) Watch this space regarding end of Year 2 celebrations… more details to follow!
This term is going to be a busy one with an exciting topic all about keeping healthy. The children will be learning all about healthy eating and keeping fit to live a healthy lifestyle!
We are looking forward to this Science based topic, exploring food groups to create a healthy plate, setting personal targets for the children to achieve in PE lessons and to learn all about successful athletes like Mo Farrah and Michael Jordan. The children will also be learning about the Olympics and how it began!
Positive Parklands Person
This half term we will be helping the children to think about how they can be a POSITIVE Parklands Person. This will be discussed in class, in assemblies and as part of our PSHCE (personal, social, healthy and citizenship education) work. Please ask your child what they are doing to become a POSITIVE Parklands Person!

On Tuesday 5th July, Classes 5 and 6 will be going to Ninja Warrior UK Adventure in Leicester for our Summer Trip! We are delighted to say that this trip is completely FREE as it is being funded with School Sports Funding. We are using this funding to enable us to provide the children with an extra-curricular physical activity. In order to get the most out of the day, we ask that your child arrives at school for 8.45am that morning as the coach will be leaving at 9am prompt. Please bring your child straight to their classroom that morning. Your child will need collecting at the usual pick time.
The children will have lunch at the venue which will consist of nuggets, chips and pizza so your child will not need a packed lunch. The food will be presented on a sharing platter so they will be able to choose the food they would like. Squash and water will be served also. Please speak to your child’s teacher if there are any issues regarding this.
Children can wear comfortable sportwear including t-shirt/sweater, shorts or tracksuit bottoms WITH SOCKS. Your child’s PE kit will also be suitable. Please provide your child with a NAMED water bottle to keep them hydrated as they will no doubt get hot and sweaty!
In order for your child to attend, we require your consent to share your child’s first name and date of birth with Ninja Warrior UK Adventure. Please tick the box below to give us your permission. Please note, if we do not have your consent, your child will not be able to go on the trip.
