When our oldest child attended Parklands School from 2012, I got a first-hand sense of how wonderful this school community was. Our child flourished educationally, socially and emotionally as a Parklands Person. In 2017 when our youngest child joined the nursery at Parklands, I was keen to be part of the team. I became a Parent Governor and in 2019 I became Vice Chair of Governors. I enjoy this role as it helps me to understand the vast and varied day to day issues involved in caring for, protecting and educating our youngsters. It also gives me the ability to have an input into the leadership and accountability of the school, to help in maintaining high standards and in driving the school forward. In my day job I am an HR consultant working for small private companies and advising on personnel related matters. In school I am the Governor for STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. I'm on the Finance, Pay and Personnel Committees, the Curriculum and School Improvement Committee, and the Buildings and Property Committee. Being a Governor is often hard work, it can be time consuming, but it is very rewarding, and I am very proud to be a Parklands Parent.
