We went on a walk to West Park to see what we could find in our local area.
First we took some of Mrs Etchells' recycling to the Recycling Centre and we talked about which things we can recycle. We know recycling is showing respect to our environment - we are RESPECTFUL Parklands People.
After that we looked for all the different things you can do on West Park. We found cricket, rugby, the Leisure Centre, football, baseball, running, having a picnic, bowls, listening to music on the bandstand, sitting in the sun, table tennis, the splash pad, basketball, the skate park and our favourite thing - the playground!
We decided we are very lucky to have such a lovely park in our town.
We have been learning the names of the four countries in the United Kingdom - why not test your child and see if they can remember them?
We played some games on a giant map on the playground and completed some jigsaws of the UK.
February saw our much-awaited trip to Sudbury Hall Museum of Childhood.
We had a great day. The children learnt a lot about old toys and had the opportunity to try out lots of them.
We also went in the Victorian classroom where the children got to experience what a Victorian lesson was like.
They also had the chance to feel what it was like for a child to go up the chimney in the museum's own mock up - this was very dark and a little bit scary!
