Hello Super Sixes!

Derbyshire County Council have  produced this child-friendly leaflet below to help explain Corona Virus to young children. Please feel free to use it with your children.

It’s competition time!! We have been asked if anybody would like to enter this competition by the local dog warden!

'We are in the early stages of creating our new community based initiative The Greener Paws Scheme. The Greener Paws Scheme is a community based initiative where responsible dog owners take a pledge to help tackle the problem of dog fouling, and to re-inforce responsible dog ownership. The scheme looks for recruitment of those dog owners that do pick up after their dog, not those who do not. The idea of the scheme is to highlight the issue of dog fouling but in a positive manner, by volunteers being visible whilst walking their dogs, this may discourage irresponsible dog owners to leave their dog fouling, and to also encourage them to approach volunteers for a poo bag and know they will not be judged.

Our current competition is for the public to assist in creating our logo. We have had 5 different dogs drawn up, and are asking people to print these off, colour them in, and then send back to Olivia.ball@erewash.gov.uk in time for the winner to be announced on Tuesday 16th June 2020 at 12:00pm.

For more information, please see the link below!

Online Classroom

The Government have been working with a group of teachers and have produced a resource to use at home while schools are closed to help with their learning. You can select Year 2 and then choose the subject you would like. These lessons are taken from the Year 2 National Curriculum. Obviously they don't match completely with our topic work but the weekly work I add will cover that.

Please find below some home learning links and activities that have been produced for parents. Please pick and choose activities from this for your child to do. It is up to you how much or less you do with your child, but please do remember that this is a great opportunity for you to teach your child to bake, garden and learn through play!

These activities and links are ongoing to be done at any time. However I will be adding more specific content every Monday morning- see 'WEEKLY TASKS'. This will match what the children would have been learning through the school curriculum.

Hi All!

Just an ECO link to add to your class page if you wish! It is from Severn Trent and has resources about sewers, the importance of keeping hydrated, looking after our water and protecting our environment. New content is released every week and has some nice little activities for families that might be a bit different.
