The Creative Arts
At Parklands we aim to foster an interest in the Creative Arts through providing a range of stimulating activities in visual arts, music , design and technology and drama Our pupils are encouraged to develop their creativity in exploring a variety of enriched opportunities where new techniques and skills will evolve our pupils creativity. Our pupils develop their awareness of a broad spectrum of cultural influences by looking at the work of artists and listening to music of widely differing genres. Visiting artists and musicians provide hands on experiences which deepens our pupils understanding and form lasting impressions to inspire their creativity.We work with the Erewash Festival Lights organisation which plans special events working with other local schools. This work is shared with our local community through art displays and school performances.
The Gallery
Discover Club
We are very proud to offer our pupils the opportunity to take part in the discover awards. Pupils learn about the different elements of art. They explore a famous artist work and are given time to express their own creativity. All the pupils will complete and record their journey which is assessed to work towards the discover award.
