The Learning Challenge Curriculum

"The best way to have a good idea is to have a lot of ideas." ~ Linus Pauling

At Parklands Infant and Nursery school, we believe that a high quality Art education provides the foundations for inspiring and promoting creativity. Art  in our school is about developing every child's creative ideas and sparking their curiosity to discover their own direction of  how to express and share their ideas.  Our children are encouraged to ask and answer questions about the the art that they explore .  They share their opinions  and critique the work of famous artists and sculptors. The aim of the progressive Art curriculum is to ensure children gain detailed connected knowledge and skills remembering what has been learned previously. Curriculum planning is done with input from all year groups enabling the knowledge to be built upon year on year and specifically tailored to meet the needs of our children. Art skills  begin from the early years  and developed to which enable children to revisit and showcase  their creativity and self expression  which they have gained in previous years and allow them to build connections to the new knowledge they are about to receive.
