This week our question is: Who are England’s famous Olympians?
Now that you have learnt about the Olympics, we would like you to find out about England's famous Olympians. These could include Sir Steve Redgrave, Mo Farah, Sir Bradley Wiggins, Jessica Ennis-Hill and our very own Derbyshire swimmer Rebecca Adlington. Can you find out about their sport, their childhood, their background and what they do to live a healthy lifestyle? There are some fact cards below about Mo Farah to help you with your research. You could present your information in a book, a poster or on a laptop or ipad! Choose any form you wish!
There is also a comprehension pack about Mo Farah for your child to complete. (Please note that the exercises get progressively more challenging so chose the appropriate exercise for your child!)
Remember that teaching time can be a tricky concept for children so please take the small steps needed- recap how to tell the time to the hour before moving on to teaching how to tell the time to the nearest five minutes.
Now we're going to learn 'past' and 'to'.
Please show your child the first photo and explain that we say 'to' if the time is past 'half past'.
