Week specific work for 11.5.20

Good morning Class 4,

Welcome to another week of virtual learning! I hope you are all well and enjoyed the lovely weather over the weekend. I'm sure some of you had a brilliant time on VE day, maybe you made flags for the front of your house or enjoyed a socially distant street party. It would be great to see any photos of the things you did.

This week we are doing a reading comprehension on Florence Nightingale for Literacy and in Maths we are looking at ordering numbers to 50. Remember that Ruth Miskin is showing videos on RWI sounds everyday on Youtube for you to practise your sounds to help you with your reading. There is a link to this page in the school closure work. If you are unsure what sounds you should be practising, please email me and I will let you know :) In PSHE, you will be focussing on what to do if you find yourself getting angry

Stay safe

Mrs Etchells

This is a differentiated resource so there are three types of reading comprehension on this page and the text and the questions are more detailed as it goes through. The answers are underneath so it is entirely up to you which one you do with your child depending on the challenge. If you want to do the trickier ones, it would be helpful to get the children to practise saying the sentence in full before writing the answer down.

Thank you :)

Below you will find some Base 10 sheets you can print out and cut up if needed. You will only need the tens and ones.
I have found some games online that will help with ordering numbers. Click on the links below to have a go.
Each week I am going to add the Learning Pack produced by Classroom Secrets that includes some extra Literacy/Maths work if you want something else to do.
