ESSP Partnership

Our Local sports partnership provides a valuable service in connecting us with other local schools where we participate in festivals and competitions. They support us in ensuring we have a local network and keep us up-to-date with local events. 

Festivals and Competitions

We enjoy participating in local events and this term has been very busy with local festivals and competitions. Take a look at our Festival and Sport Gallery. 

• On the 25th September 15 of our year children participated in Mini Leader Training
• On Thursday 30th September one of our Year Two classes took part in a Disney Shooting Stars Event
• On Tuesday 7th October KS 1 took part in a cross country Fun Run at Wilsthorpe school and our very own Louis Edwards came 1st Overall. 
• On Monday 13th October one of our Year One classes participated in a Fundamentals workshop.
• On Tuesday 21st October one of our year One classes participated in a Mini Moovers event.
• On Friday 24th October our KS 1 classes participated in a Fitness morning run by ESSP.

Sports Clubs

At Parklands we offer Soccerstars sports club on Tuesdays and on Thursdays JandJ sports are delivering Laser Tag for our sports club in Autumn 2.

Our Sport Mini Leaders 2025-2026

These children have been selected by their class teachers to play an active role during lunch and playtimes facilitating active games and activities with other children. They are also responsible for ensuring children are using equipment correctly and have been given additional responsibility for ensuring our sport trolley is topped up and equipment stored correctly. 

DERBYSHIRE CRICKET FOUNDATION 2024-2025

Our KS 1 children have been lucky to receive 6 weeks of cricket coaching with a specialist coach from Derbyshire Cricket Foundation. The children have developed their batting and fielding skills and have really enjoyed participating in the sessions each week. Thank you Derbyshire Cricket Foundation.
