Reading Books

In Year 1 we are trying to build independence by encouraging children to change their own reading book. There is no set day for book changing but we ask that they read each book 3 times before changing. This allows them to build fluency and develop their comprehension skills (understanding what they have read). The children's reading diaries are counted each week and when they have read 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50, the children are moved up the reading rainbow and given a prize based on how many times they have read!

P.E days

We have P.E on Tuesdays and Thursdays. P.E kits can remain in school until half term when they will be sent home to be washed.
