Volunteer Day - September 2024
Thank you to Cooper Parry for all their help in our Garden of Dreams. They helped us cut back, tidy and clear overgrown parts of the garden.
As an ECO Team we decided we wanted to improve our school grounds and encourage Biodiversity. We had five planters installed on an empty and unused area of grass and are developing each raised planter based on one of the five senses - sight, touch, taste, smell and sounds. We have been lucky to have some plants donated to us by Trent College. These are now planted and we are looking forward to the coming weeks as we watch them grow and attract bees, butterflies and insects. We are going to develop this area further as we think about our senses within these areas, incorporating chimes, edible plants, water and herbs.

We have worked so hard this year and have successfully achieved our ECO award. Well done ECO Team and Parklands Infant and Nursery school......WE DID IT!
We were proud to open some special post in assembly this week. Our ECO Schools flag has arrived and we shared it with the whole school. It will soon be flying high on our mast as we proudly show everyone that we are an ECO School.
We were also proud to be given our own certificates recognising our contributions to the ECO team as we represented our classes in meetings and as we focused on our key areas of Biodiversity with our new sensory garden.
Well done ECO TEAM 2023-2024. Keep up your positivity and pass on your knowledge and enthusiasm for looking after our World to those around you.
