Performance and Attainment Information

At Parklands, we are very proud of our pupils' achievements. In particular, our children perform very well in the National Assessments which take place at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage, at the end of Year 1 and at the end of Year 2.

Early Years Foundation Stage

At the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage, pupils are assessed as to whether or not they have a met a good level of development across the different areas of learning.

For 2023, 73% of pupils at Parklands achieved a good level of development at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage compared to 67% nationally.

Year 1

At the end of Year 1, all pupils are required to sit the national phonics screening check. This is designed to test a child's knowledge and understanding of phonics and their ability to decode a range of words, including made up 'alien words.'

For 2023, 46% of pupils at Parklands met the expected standard in the phonics screening check.

Year 2

At the end of Year 2, pupils sit national assessment tests which are used to inform an overall teacher assessment of a child's ability in Reading, Writing, Maths and Science. These tests are then used to inform an overall teacher assessment of each child's ability. The table below outlines how well our children achieved at the end of Year 2 in 2023:
