My name is Kathryn Merriman. I have had the pleasure of being a governor at Parklands Infant School since February 2022. I am married with 2 children, my daughter started at Parklands Nursery and has just moved to the juniors and my son currently attends Parklands so I have seen the amazing progress children make and the experiences they gain whilst at the school. I have worked with children for over 25 years and I am currently working as a teacher in an infant school in Derby City therefore I have a passion and knowledge of education and child development. I started as a nursery nurse and once gained my Teaching qualification I also became a Mathematics specialist teacher so I hope to share my experiences, knowledge and research to support as my role of Governor. Since I have lived in Long Eaton most of my life, Parklands Infant school is a part of my local community and I am grateful for the opportunity to help and support the school and to be part of what is an exciting future.
