Nursery places

We currently offer 15 and 30 hour sessions to eligible children.  For more information, please contact the office on 0115 9732667 or email us at enquiries@parklands.derbyshire.sch.uk, or complete our online enquiry form.

If you would like a place, please get in touch, and we will put your child on our waiting list.  We will contact you at the beginning of the term before your child is eligible to start.  Spaces are allocated in September, but we do also have other intakes in January and April depending on availability.

We will always invite you and your child in to visit us before starting.  On your visit you will have the opportunity to meet our Nursery Team, have a look around, and we can hopefully answer any queries you may have.  We also hold open days during the year; families are welcome to come along for a no obligation visit and chat.  Children will also be offered a 'Stay and Play' session to join in with the activities in Nursery and meet their new friends.  All new parents are also offered the opportunity to attend a New Intake meeting where we share lots of helpful information, including our Nursery routines and our EYFS curriculum.

Children in our Nursery typically then go on to join our infant school, and we fully support the children and their parents/carers throughout this transition.  Children will still need to apply for their Reception place, even if they go to our Nursery.  Derbyshire admissions open from September, the year before your child is due to start school, and close in mid-January.  Please follow the link to apply for a Reception school place https://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/education/schools/school-places/primary-admissions/primary-infant-and-junior-school-admissions.aspx

15 Hour Places

 

We offer 15 funded hours to ALL 3 and 4 year olds, at either our morning, afternoon or 2 1/2 day sessions (term time only).

Our session times are:

Morning Nursery: 9.00am to 12.00pm - Monday to Friday

Afternoon Nursery: 12.00pm to 3.00pm - Monday to Friday

Children are admitted to nursery in the term after they turn 3, pending spaces.
